The founder of Electric Elements, Austin Sharon, is working with local farming projects in Santa Barbara, CA to help combat food insecurity and malnutrition through sustainable agriculture practices.
The nonprofit he works with is called The Terrace Foundation which has developed an urban farm with hydroponic towers, a regenerative soil farm, and a microgreens greenhouse for Pilgrim Terrace Community Homes - a housing facility and food provider for low-income seniors and people with disabilities.
Pilgrim Terrace offers a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) membership to fund its nonprofit initiatives to not only help the low-income residents but the greater community as well. The CSA membership includes a farm share program, full-course meals from the on-site kitchen, art classes, and more.
